  Mobile Marketing using loyalty programs an untapped opportunity

With the staggering growth of smart phones, the opportunities for mobile marketing continue to expand. A high interest level from consumers, in loyalty programs offered through their mobile phones, has been uncovered as one of the latest opportunities waiting to be tapped. Previous research amongst US consumers by Zoomerang shows that a significant proportion of mobile phone users would be interested in a mobile loyalty program offered by a trustworthy brand although only a small proportion are actually being offered it currently. Those who are were highly satisfied; with 90% registering their programs as providing value. Another opportunity uncovered was for mobile coupons and the possibility of utilizing these through an existing loyalty program.
